Worder Holcomb Obituary

Worder (Warder) Holcomb, 103 of Holcomb Ridge Lizemores, passed away Saturday, August 27, 2011 at his residence
following an extended illness. He was born January 5, 1908 in Lizemores, WV to the late Thomas Andrew and Phoebe Dovie
Jones Holcomb. In addition to his parents he was also preceded in death by his loving wife, Elsie Hazel Sizemore Holcomb;
daughter, Martha Truman; son, Robert Allen Holcomb; brothers and sisters, Mildred, Rosie, Eileen, Rita, Gussie, Fred, Arthur and Lessie and Minnie Nichols.
He was a timber cutter for Clonch Lumber Co, a retired Janitor for Lizemores Elementary School and a farmer.
He was a member of the Laurel Fork Missionary Baptist Church, Adonijah.
He is survived by his daughters, Ella Mae Bird of Alta, Bertha Ellen Pritt of Belva, Georgia E. Backus of Bentree, Maysel M. Truman
of Brownsville, Della J. Holcomb of Bomont, Anna Bell Burns of Oak Hill, Mary L. Bird of Adonijah; sons, Everett H. Holcomb of Elyria, OH
and Herbert A. Holcomb of Summersville; 25 Grandchildren; 43 Great-Grandchildren; 15 Great-Great-Grandchildren.

Funeral services will be 11:00 AM Wednesday, August 31, 2011 at the Pennington Funeral Home, Gauley Bridge, with Minister Earl Elliott
officiating. Burial will follow in the Holcomb-Jones Cemetery, Adonijah. Friends may call from 6:00 - 8:00 PM, Tuesday, August 30, 2011
at the funeral home.
