Walter Jackson (Jack) Jones (98.2yrs) of Belva (Formal of Vaughn) entered into rest January 18th, 2023.
Born on 18th Nov. 1924 to the late Robert L. Jones and the late Carrie O. (Hill) Jones. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by brothers; Jink, Louis, Bobby and sisters; Bina, Bonnie, Charlotte, Annie. Also preceded him, son’s Leonard, Roger, Johnny and Daughters, Shirley, Pam.
Jack worked as a baker in Canton, Ohio before moving back to WV to work as a coal miner at Cannelton Coal Company and other mines and a member of the UMWA with over (35) years and (21) years in UMWA.
Jack is survived by daughters, Judy (David) of GA. and Lisa of Ohio. Also, son’s, Jackie of Belva and George of Twenty- Mile; brother, Bill (Virgie) of Vaughn. Jack was a person of Faith and Believed in the “Lord Jesus Christ”. As well as a passel (14) grand- kids, (10) great-grand kids and (9) great-great grandkids. Dad was a friend to many and would give you the shirt off his back and missed his best friend (Jim Hill) coming up for coffee.
Services and memorial celebration of life service will be held on Tuesday January 24, 2023, at Pennington Smith Funeral Home, Gauley Bridge, WV with visitation being from 11:00 am to 12:00 pm, Funeral at 12:00 noon, with Minister BJ Smith officiating. Burial will follow at London Memorial Cemetery, London, WV.
