Shawn Michael Edwards

With heavy hearts, the family of Shawn Michael Edwards announces his passing on August 21, 2025, at the age of 48. Born on September 22, 1976, Shawn was the beloved son of Paul Sr. and Leona Edwards of Bell Creek.

Shawn’s greatest pride and joy were his children: His oldest, Makayla, his baby Makenzie, and his partner in crime Easton. He is also survived by his brother Paul Edwards Jr. (Susan) and their children, Chance and Emerson. He is preceded in death by his beloved significant other, Tara Waugh, with whom he shared a special bond.

Shawn lived life with a joyful spirit. He loved the freedom of riding his motorcycle, the thrill of cheering on his kids at sporting events, and the quiet peace of hunting. More than anything, his legacy will be carried on through the love he poured into his children.

Those who knew Shawn will remember his kindness, his adventurous spirit, and his unwavering faith as a saved man. Though his time here was far too short, the impact of his life and the love he gave will never be forgotten.

Funeral Service will be at 1:00 pm on Friday, August 29, 2025, with visitation from 12:00 pm to 1:00 pm at Pennington Smith Funeral Home, Gauley Bridge, WV. Burial will follow in the Sunset Cemetery, Leatherwood Road, Bickmore, WV.
