Ruby Lee Woods of Brownsville, West Virginia died February 28, 2025, at her home. Born November 19, 1926, in Lucas County, Ohio, Ruby was the daughter of Viola Irene and Harry Oakley Cordell. Ruby was preceded in death by her parents, husband, General Woods, daughter, Vicki Scott, brothers, Donald and Harry Cordell and sister Shirley Bolton.
Ruby is survived by her children, Judy Waggoner of Craigsville, West Virginia, Donald Woods (Frances) of Gastonia, North Carolina, Debby Sargent (Calvin) of Dixie, West Virginia, five grandchildren, Donald Woods of Denver, North Carolina, Edward Scott of Mooresville, North Carolina, Ray Ann Paxton of Summersville, West Virginia, Dawn Lee Johnson of Craigsville, West Virginia, Jessica Sargent of Charlton Heights, West Virginia, seven great-grandchildren, two great-great grandchildren and a brother, Jimmy Cordell (Audrey).
After being a devoted stay-at-home mother, Ruby pursued a career as a nurse and was employed at Montgomery General Hospital for many years. Ruby was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother and lived a life rooted in faith and devoted to Christ. She will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved her.
