Ruby Ruth (Humphrey) Hill

Ruby Hill, age 93, of Alta, WV, went to her heavenly home on the morning of July 12th, 2024. Ruby exemplified a life guided by her Christian faith and a deep love for her family. She was the beloved wife of the late J.W. Hill, with whom she shared 67 years of marriage.  She was the daughter of the late Fred and Mary Humphrey, also of Alta, WV. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brothers, Everett, Howard, Ernest, George, Clifford and Gene Humphrey; sisters, Arlena Pullens, Louise Rogers, Eva Morris and Edith Kuntz.

Throughout her life, Ruby cherished her role as a devoted mother and grandmother. Her nurturing spirit and unwavering faith touched the lives of all who knew her. She leaves behind a legacy of love and kindness that will be forever remembered by her four children, Larry (Brenda) Hill of Hurricane, Terry (Christine) Hill of Pratt, Charles (Deborah) Hill of Mt. Nebo, and Cynthia (Timothy) Sagraves of Summersville. She had thirteen grandchildren and twelve great-grandchildren.

Ruby was known for her witty sense of humor, kind heart and her love for the Lord. She will be fondly remembered and deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her.

Services will be held at Pennington-Smith Funeral Home in Gauley Bridge, WV with Pastor Richard Harold officiating.  Public visitation will begin at 12:00 PM on Tuesday, July 16, 2024. Services will begin at 1:00 PM.  Burial will follow at Kanawha Valley Memorial Gardens in Glasgow, WV.
