Robert S. "Bob" Taylor, 68 of Bentree, WV, went home to be with the Lord, September 30, 2012 after a long illness.
Born October 6, 1943 in Wyndal, WV, he was the son of the late Harry "Punch" Taylor and Pearl Fitzwater Taylor. In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by brothers, Harry Jr. and Gilbert and sister, Patricia Jane.
He is survived by mother, Pearl Taylor of Belva; wife, Anna Bell Pritt Taylor of 43 years; daughter, Beverly (Joseph) Young and three granddaughters, Joanna, Bethany and Elizabeth Jane all of Belva; daughter, Ashley Pritt of Burnsville, WV; sisters, Louise Crouse of Belva, Nancy Harper of Dixie, Terry Gray of Ansted, Tilda Martin of Milton Village and one Uncle, Albert Booth of Belva.
Robert was a Christian and a member of the Christian Church of Lizemores, WV. He was a loving and devoted family man. Robert was retired from Brogan Investigation and Security Co. and Peabody Coal Company. An Army Veteran of the Vietnam War, being a recipient of numerous medal and commendations. Robert was a also a lifetime member of Gauley Bridge VFW Post #8366, and one of the initial members of the Gauley River Volunteer Fire Department.
Funeral services will be 1:00 PM Wednesday, October 3, 2012 at Pennington Funeral Home, Gauley Bridge with Ministers J.W. Hill, Thurman Sizemore and Kyle Raider officiating. Burial will follow in the Sunset Cemetery, Bickmore. Friends may call from 6:00 - 8:00 PM Tuesday, October 2, 2012 at the funeral home.
