Rev. Charles E. Blankenship, 79, of Gauley Bridge, went home to with the Lord on November 11, 2018.
Treasured by his daughter, Betheny (Blankenship) Koch, and her husband Mitch of Glen Ferris; grandson, Andrew Koch/Goodfellow Air Force Base, TX and his wife, Natalie; sister, Shirley (Nottingham) Maynard of Brownsville, many nieces and nephews, and special longtime friend, Jack Johnson of Glen Ferris.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Sondra (Richardson) Blankenship; his parents, Clara (Baker) and Mearl Blankenship; brothers and sisters; Beulah (Blankenship) Burleson, Virgil and Paul Blankenship
He was born in Big Creek, on August 28, 1939 and served in the US Army from 1963-1965. He was a businessman and entrepreneur. He was the founder and pastor of the Brownsville Holiness Church for over fifty years. He dedicated his life to the Lord and did great work as he pastored, evangelized with his dear friend Bro. Harry Johnson/gospel artist, preached many funerals, was a great asset to his community, and touched many lives over the years. He was well loved by a host of Christian brothers and sisters, some gone on and some left to carry on his great work by faith.
Funeral service will be held 11:00 A.M. November 18, at his beloved Brownsville Holiness Church, Brownsville, with Rev. Nathan Johnson/Pastor, officiated by, Rev. Ron Oplinger, Rev. Billy Conn, Rev. John Bruce and Rev. James Bowling. Burial will be at Montgomery Memorial Park, London.
Viewing will be from 6:00 P.M. to 9:00 P.M. Saturday, November 17, at Brownsville Holiness Church.
