Paul V. Morris, Sr., 85, of Dixie, entered into rest December 28, 2011, at Montgomery General Hospital.
Born on July 31, 1926, in Bentree, he was the son of the late Stephen Morris and Bessie O'Dell Morris. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by his brother, Roy, and sisters, Juanita Terry and Stella Hill.
Paul was an electrician for Harewood and Peabody Coal Company and worked at Sundial Complex B Mines for 11 years prior to his retirement. He was a member of Ida Baptist Church, and pastored at Lovers Leap Baptist Church, Laurel Fork Baptist Church, Carbondale Baptist Church and other local churches, was a World War II Army Veteran (Military Police), and was a Shriner with the Montgomery Masonic Lodge # 64.
Survivors include his wife, Mary Morris of Dixie; children, Paul W. Morris, Jr. (Henry) and wife, Sandy, of Keslers Cross Lanes, Barbara Pennington of Dixie, and Stephen Morris and wife, Robin, of Kenova; 5 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren.
Funeral service will be 1 pm Saturday, December 31, 2011, at Ida Baptist Church, Bentree, WV, with Minister Jadie Morris officiating. Burial will follow in the Hill Cemetery, Belva, with military graveside rites conducted by Ansted VFW Post 7695 and Masonic graveside rites conducted by Masonic Lodge Number #64 .
