Rev. Norman Bruce Niemeyer, 78, passed away Monday July 21, 2014 at his residence. He was born October 29, 1935 in Michigan to the late John W. and Cornelia Mae DeBoer Niemeyer. Norman Niemeyer was a missionary and a pastor. He was a member of Shallowford Baptist Church. Surviving are his wife Cora Sue Elswick Niemeyer; children John W. (Sandra Lynn) Niemeyer, Bruce Allan (Darla Jane) Niemeyer, Connie Sue (Wesley Stephen) Alderman, Virginia Dawn (Kenneth Laing) Harris; twelve grandchildren; sister Helen Helder; brother Robert Niemeyer. The family will receive friends from 6-8 PM Tuesday July 22, 2014 at Gentry Family Funeral Service in Yadkinville. The funeral service will take place at 1 PM on Thursday, July 24, 2014 at Bell Creek Missionary Baptist Church in Dixie, WV with Pastor Shane Wynn officiating. Burial will follow in Restlawn Memory Gardens in Victor. The family will receive friends two hours prior to the funeral service at the church.
