Norma Jean (Simmons) Hersh

Norma Jean Hersh (Simmons), born March 29, 1956, passed away on May 3, 2026, after a long illness.

Norma will be remembered for the love she shared with her family and friends, the kindness she showed to others, and the memories she created throughout her life. Her presence brought comfort, strength, and warmth to those who knew her.

She is survived by her loving husband, John Henry Hersh; her daughters, Amber Hersh (Brandon) and Jennifer Simpson (Andrew); and her pride and joy, her grandson, Christofer Simpson.

Norma was preceded in death by her father, Lewis Junior Simmons; her mother, Thelma Simmons (Holcomb); and her sister, Brenda Simmons.

She leaves behind loved ones who will deeply miss her and continue to cherish her memory always.

Funeral Service will be at 1:00 pm, Thursday May 7, 2026, at Mt. Olive Baptist Church, 54 Mt. Olive Branch Road, Mt. Olive, WV with Adam Dorsey Officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service from 12:00 pm – 1:00 pm.
