Micheal "Mike" Ray Pritt, 71, born on May 8, 1953, in Gauley Bridge, WV, went home to be with the Lord on August 25, 2024, while he was at J.W. Ruby Memorial Hospital, Morgantown, WV, surrounded by family. Mike is preceded in death by his parents Clayton and Mary Pritt; his siblings, Betty Jo Nichols, Lee Pritt and Debbie Elliott, brothers-in-law Allan Morris, Buck Long, Wayne Dent, Kenny Dent, nephew David Smith, sisters-in-law Margaret Long, Betty Bird, mother-in-law Emogene Overstreet and spouse of 29 years, Barbara Long Pritt.
Mike attended Clay County High School, was a US Navy Veteran, and went on to retire from Maple Coal in 2011, after a lifelong service to the coal mining industry as a Master Electrician. He exemplified many skillsets and there wasn’t anything he couldn’t do. He was an entrepreneur. Mike and his brother Lee owned and operated L&M Computers in Gauley Bridge.
Mike enjoyed working with his hands. He restored vehicles and built two of his own homes. He loved anything to do with thrifty sales and government deals. In his spare time, Mike enjoyed playing solitaire and tinkering with the treasures he found on government deals.
Mike was an explementary Christian, Husband, Father, Grandfather and Friend. He was a pillar of strength, honor, and was dedicated to teaching his loved ones the importance of being humble, instilling ethics and morals, family values and leading his family by being a man that feared the Lord. He was cherished and known for his kind, loving, and humorous personality. Mike was the type of guy to give others the shirt off his back to stay warm, while he braved the cold.
Mike is survived by his loving and devoted wife of 21 years, Barbara Dent Hull Pritt, stepsons Robert Hull (Kim) of Fayetteville, Tommy Hull (Debbie) of Daniels, son Michael “Charlie” Pritt (Tina) of Ansted and daughter Brandi Walker (Justin) of Williamsburg, VA. Grandchildren, Daniel (Buck) Thomas, (Melissa Slaughter), Tesla Bradford (Kyalo), Desiree Wood (Nathan), Micah Hull, Hannah Hull, Brett Hull (Tiffany), Jessica Hunt (Larry), Emily Culicerto (Timmy), Phillip Lilly II (Olivia), Alyssa Pritt, Kendra Pritt, Levi Pritt, Victoria Walker and Reagan Walker. Great Grandchildren: Kynsleigh Pullens, Ellie Pullens, Kaevon Bradford, Georgia Wood, Waylon Thorn, Remington Thomas, Kimberly Thomas, Adaleigh Thomas, Bentley, Riley, Dallas, Willow and Waylon, Owen, Cameron, Wyatt, Remi Hunt, Ezra Hunt and Nolan Hunt. His sister Lena Morris of Summersville, Half-brother, Jimmy Bird of Morgantown, NC, sisters-in-law Margaret Pritt of Boomer, Elaine Dent of Gauley Bridge, Sandy Dent of Gauley Bridge, brothers-in-law Keith Dent of Yorktown, IN, Glen Dent of Muncie, IN, Robert Long (Tammy) of Fayetteville, Bill Long of Fayetteville, John Long (Dawn) of Powhatan, VA, and step father-in-law, Jim Overstreet. He is also survived by hosts of loving, nieces, nephews and a long-time friends.
The visitation celebrating Mike’s life will be from 1 p.m. to 2 p.m. Friday, August 30, 2024, at Pennington Funeral Home, 331 Main St., Gauley Bridge, WV. The service is being officiated by Pastor Luke Hodges.
