Larry Brooks Underwood

Larry Brooks Underwood, 67, of Dixie, entered into rest Thursday, June 16, 2011.
Born September 1, 1943 in Lizemores. He was the son of the late Leonard and Grace (Elkins) Underwood. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his daughter, Selena Faye Underwood, and son, Jason Underwood and brother, Tommy Underwood.
He was a retired coal miner and a member of Bell Creek Missionary Church.
Larry is survived by his wife Emily (VanMeter) Underwood of Dixie, mother-in-law, Lenore "Nanny" VanMeter, daughter, Christena Johnson and her husband Gary of Charlottesville, VA, sons, Nathan Underwood of Charleston, Dutch Underwood of Charlton Heights, grandchildren, Leanna, Lauren and Lindsay Johnson sisters, Phyllis Bounds of Charleston, Betty Brown of GA., brothers, Jerry Underwood of Swiss, Joe Underwood of Frederick, MD.
Graveside service will be held 1:00 pm Tuesday, June 21, 2011, Montgomery Memorial Park, London, with Minister Eddie Brown officiating.
Friends may call from 6 to 8 pm Monday at Pennington Funeral Home, Gauley Bridge.
