Junior Lee "Pappy" Jones, 84, of Dixie, entered into rest June 21, 2011, at his residence.
Born on January 6, 1927, in Braxton County, he was the son of the late Herbert Andrew and Nora Pearl Wright Jones. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by his son, Ronald Gene Jones; brothers, Charles, Cary, Teddy and Mike Jones; and his sisters, Mary Helen Ward and Ruth Ann Jones.
He was the owner/operator of Vaughan Trucking, a member of Bell Creek Pentecostal Holiness Church and an Army Veteran.
Survivors include his wife, Carol of Dixie; children and their spouses, Linda Kay (Jimmy) Jarrett, Brenda Lou (Wally) White, Veronica Lynn Bird, Anita Carol (Billy IV) Matics, Richard Lee (Nina) Jones, and Darrell Chip (Amy)Cantley; sisters, Cora Lee Null, Opal Louise Keyes and Barbara Lou (Denny) Farley; brother, Kenneth Edward Jones; 17 grandchildren, 9 great-grandchildren and a multitude of nephews, nieces, and friends.
Funeral service will be 11 am Saturday, June 25, 2011, at Pennington Funeral Home, Gauley Bridge, with Rev. Lee Holliday officiating. Burial will follow in Kanawha Valley Memorial Gardens, Glasgow.
