Janet Jewell (Scott) Laverty

Janet Jewell Laverty, 83, of Dixie, entered into rest Tuesday, March 29, 2016 at her residence.

Born on July 4, 1932, in Cabin Creek; she was the daughter of the late Earnest "Freeman" and Jessie Scott. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by brothers, Charles, Kenny, Melvin, Marvin, and Richard, sisters, Una, and Martha Jane.

Left to cherish her memories are son, Barney Harrison Laverty II (Lisa) of Roanoke, VA, daughter, Barbara Fleshman (Fred) of Paducah KY, two grandchildren, brothers, David, Raymond, and Mike all of OH., sisters, Eula of Mass., Betty of WV, and Nancy of Indiana.

Funeral Services will be held 1:00 P.M., Friday April 1, 2016 at Pennington Funeral Home, Gauley Bridge, WV, with Minister Billy Morris officiating. Burial will follow in Kanawha Valley Memorial Gardens, Glasgow.

Family will receive friends one hour prior to service.
