James W Johnson aka “OJ" 58 of Drennen West Virginia passed away suddenly of an ongoing heart condition Saturday February 24th, 2024.
James's proceeded in death by his mother Betty Lee Pritt Of North Carolina.
James is survived by his father Clifford (Marie) Johnson of Lyonsville, WV; wife Vanessa Johnson of Drennen, West Virginia. His daughter Jennifer and husband Ronald Legg of Gauley Bridge, daughter Christa Short and son Patrick Mullins of Drennen WV; son, Thomas "Matt" Mullins of Summersville WV. James also leaves behind a total of 13 grandchildren that have become his entire world. Besides the family James also had several Friends that he considered family that were a part of his everyday life but one special person Matthew Coleman of Jodie west Virginia who was currently a business partner and a friend but had become more like a son to James. James was a very hard worker who always seen the potential in everything around him. He always said one man's Junk is another man’s treasure. He was a diesel mechanic by trade. But his true passion was building Chevrolet trucks and being the world's best Papaw. When you couldn't find his head under the hood of a Chevy you could find him wrapped around the pinky finger of one of his grandbabies. James left this world a little sooner than anyone expected.
But none the less left a mark on the hearts of everyone who knew him.
James will be severely missed, especially by his family and friends.
