James Walter Randolph

James Walter "Jim" Randolph, 77, died peacefully at home surrounded by family and friends on June 17, 2026. His story started when he was born in Oak Hill, WV, to James and Phyllis Randolph. This is where Jim built his strong work ethic by observing his father working as a lumberjack and logger. Jim was drafted to serve his country in the Vietnam War and was awarded a Purple Heart for his service. He later continued his dedication to public service by working for the USPS for 22 years. The pride of his life were his loving wife of 26 years, Crystal; his children, Jamie, Johnny, and Madison; and his dog, Summer.

Those who knew Jim knew he was larger than life and always aimed to make those around him laugh. Whether it was a quick-witted comment or one of his unique obsessions—like chicken— he always had the room rolling. His many nieces and nephews can still hear the Donald Duck impressions that earned him the nickname "Duck." The family deeply appreciates the many memories that have been shared with them during this time. While it is impossible to fill the void he has left behind, we will continue to move forward carrying the many beautiful memories he gave us. He was preceded in death by his late wife Brenda Lively Randolph who he was married to for 33 year, his brother's Ben and John Randolph, and his sisters, Ginny McBride, Janie Randolph and Carolyn Pearson.

He is survived by his loving and dedicated wife, Crystal Randolph; his sons, James Randolph (Gina) and Johnny Oliver; his daughter, Madison Randolph (Scott); his brother, Earl Randolph (Jeannette); his sisters, Burndetta O'Neal Randolph and Betty Moyer (Charles); and his sister-in-law, Donna Hobbs. He is also survived by several nieces, nephews, and great-nieces and great-nephews.
