James Earl Prather Sr.

James Prather, 81, of Gauley Bridge, entered into rest on Friday, October 27, 2017.

Born on March 31, 1936, he was the son of the late Ralph Rice and Mary Prather. In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by sons, Charles Prather Sr. and William “Billy” Prather.

James was a school bus driver for many years for Fayette County Board of Education. He attended Pentecostal Holiness Church.

He is survived by his loving wife, Brenda (Kincaid) Prather of Gauley Bridge; sons, James E. Prather Jr. ( Sandy) of Powelton and Danny Prather ( Dee Dee) of Gauley Bridge; daughters, Tammy Prather of Gauley Bridge, Roxana Hamrick ( Nathan) of Twenty Mile and Catherine Stewart of Gauley Bridge; brother, Charles Reed of Gaithersburg, MD.; sisters, Margaret Houser of Danville, VA, Rose Martin of NC, Stella Adkins and Mary Kincaid both of Gauley Bridge; Uncle Bernard Rice of Frametown, nineteen grandchildren and eleven great-grandchildren; many nieces and nephews.

Service will be held 1:00 P.M. Monday, October 30, 2017 at Pennington Funeral Home, Gauley Bridge, friends may gather with the family one hour prior to service at the funeral home. Burial will follow in the Montgomery Memorial Park, London.
