Iva June (Morton) Skagg

Iva June Morton Skaggs, 86, of Mount Olive, went home to be with the Lord with her family at her bedside on Sunday, September 16, 2018 at the Hubbard Hospice House after a short illness.

Born on June 21, 1932, she was the daughter of George and Laura Morton. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Edward “Eddie” O. Skaggs;  brothers, Carl, Norvel, Donald, and George “Petie” Morton;  sisters, Irene Sizemore, Rossie Coleman, Ruby Stone, Georgie Rider, and Lenora Sizemore.

She loved being outdoors, gardening, and caring for her flowers. She was a member of Ida Missionary Baptist Church at Bentree.

Those left to cherish her memory is her twin sister, May McDaniel of Elkview and sister, Dollie Elliot of Dixie, WV; several nephews, nieces, and a host of friends.

Funeral service will be held 1:00 p.m., Thursday, September 20, at Ida Missionary Baptist Church with Rev. Larry Skaggs officiating. Burial will be in Montgomery Memorial Cemetery at London, WV.

Friends may gather with family one hour prior to the service at the church.
