Georgia Backus Obituary

Georgia E. Holcomb Backus passed away peacefully at her home in Bentree, Saturday, November 10, 2012. She was born December 2, in Adonijah to the late Elsie and Worder Holcomb.
In addition to her parents she was also preceded in death by her loving husband of 35 years S. Gilbert Backus, her daughter, Linda Sue Backus Allen and a sister, Martha Holcomb Truman.

She is survived by her children and their spouses, Jerry Wayne Holcomb of Macedonia, OH; Carolyn Anne and Henry Tolley of Gauley Bridge; James Gilbert and Kimberly Backus of Ravenna, OH; nine grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren; sisters, Della Holcomb, Annabell Burns, Ella Mae Bird, Bertha Pritt and Mary Bird; brothers, Everette and Herbert Holcomb.

Georgia was a hard worker, who retired from TRW in Walton Hills, OH. She loved to landscape and put a lot of pride in her home. She was an excellent cook and was always available and eager to help her family. She was also an excellent caregiver, who tended to her husband and father in their times of need. Georgia had many friends far and near and she will be greatly loved and missed by all who knew her.
Funeral services will be 11:00 AM at Ida Baptist Church, Bentree with Minister Naaman Moore and Minister Mike Long officiating. Burial will follow in the Ida Baptist Church Cemetery, Bentree. Friends may call from 6:00 - 8:00 PM on Tuesday, November 13, 2012 at the Ida Baptist Church.
