Elizabeth Diana (Manley) Valentine

It is with great sadness the family of Elizabeth Diana Valentine (Manley), 65, announces her passing at Holzer Hospital, Gallipolis, OH on October 26, 2023, after battling a long-term illness.  She was a resident for the past 8 years at the Arbors at Pomeroy nursing facility in Pomeroy, OH.  The family would like to send a heartfelt appreciate for the wonderful care they gave her over the years.  She is survived by her daughters, Brittany Valentine of St. Albans, WV and Heather Henry of Harwinton, CT.  Grandchildren, William and Tyler Elkins of St. Albans, WV and Ian Henry of Harwinton, CT.  She is also survived by Brothers-in-law Steve Braenovich, Jimmy Wyant, Bobby Valentine, Bob Portz, Anthony Stepp, Gary Stepp, Christopher Stepp and William Stepp.  Sisters-in-law Doris Valentine, Patty Harold and Lisa Manley.  Sisters Sharon Braenovich, Teresa Wyant, Donna Portz and Carol Phifer and Brother Sanford Manley Jr.  She is preceded in death by her Husband Doug, Sister Brenda Valentine, Father-in-law Bob Valentine, Mother-in-law Hazel Valentine, Mother-in-law Ruth Stepp and Brother-in-law Brian Stepp. Parent’s Sanford and Alma-Jean Manley.  Diane was born in Deepwater, WV.  She lived with her husband Doug and children in Beards Fork, WV and finally at Bull Push, Cannelton, WV.  Diane was a graduate of Montgomery High School class of ’76.  She worked for over 30 years as a teller and later teller supervisor at Montgomery National and United National Bank in Montgomery, WV.  Diane was also treasurer of Valley High School Band boosters and volunteered for Montgomery Christmas toy drives.  Through her love of music, she sang 2 years with her daughter Heather in Handel’s Messiah at Oak Hill United Methodist Church.  She also enjoyed going to her daughter Brittany’s many sports games over the years and loved Friday night football games working the band booster’s booth.  Diane led a very full life and will be missed.  Visitation hours will be at Pennington Smith Funeral Home in Gauley Bridge, WV on Monday, October 30th from 6-8 pm.  A funeral will be held at the same facility on Tuesday, October 31st at 11am proceeded after by the graveside service at Kanawha Valley Memorial Gardens at Glasgow, WV.
