Douglas Pierson Obituary

On November 8, 2024, Douglas David Pierson left this world and entered his heavenly home, where he was welcomed into the arms of Jesus. His life was one of strength, love, and dedication to the people and things he held dear.

Born with a talent that shone brightly on the baseball field, Doug earned a reputation as a legendary athlete. His prowess with a bat and glove earned him numerous MVP honors, and while many believed he was destined for the major leagues, Doug's heart was rooted in something even greater—his family. He poured his passion, precision, and care into being a husband, father, and grandfather.

Doug’s love of cars was almost as legendary as his athleticism. To him, a car was more than a vehicle; it was a work of art to be cherished. His meticulous attention to detail ensured that every car under his care looked as though it had just rolled off the showroom floor. He took his high school sweetheart cruising in those vehicles for over 50 years.

Doug was preceded in death by his loving wife, Susie Jane Pierson, and his sons, John and Mark Pierson. He is survived by his son Daniel Pierson, daughters Stephanie Young and Alexis (Katelyn) Pierson-Thomas, daughters-in-law Sherrie Pierson (wife of John Pierson), Debbie Sue Fleck (wife of Mark Pierson), his brother George Pierson, 9 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren, and a host of nieces and nephews. A very special thank you to Angie Lively for your loving care and support.

To those who knew him, Doug was a man of quiet but profound strength with a sense of humor that was unmatched. Thank you, Dad, Pop, Poppaw, and “Hun,” for the countless lessons in love and kindness. You were, and always will be, “top-notch.”
