Daniel Wayne “Danny” Walker, 77, of Gauley Bridge, West Virginia, passed away on April12, 2026, surrounded by his children.
Danny graduated from GBHS, Class of 1966. Shortly after turning 18, he enlisted in the U.S. Army as an Engineer Equipment Repairer and served in Vietnam. Following his military service, he returned home and worked as a welder at Elkem Metals in Alloy, West Virginia. He retired after 30 years with the company, where he made many lifelong friends.
He enjoyed gardening, cheering on the Mountaineers, and spending time with his family and friends. He had a strong work ethic, loved and cared deeply, and his generosity touched everyone who knew him.
Danny was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Anna Gail (King) Walker; his parents, Darrell and Ninetta Walker; his brother, Gary Walker; and his sister, Janeth (Walker) Blakely.
Danny is survived by his children, Gregory Walker of Stafford, Virginia; Staci Walker of Gauley Bridge; and Jeremy Walker (Melanie) of Scott Depot; his grandchildren, Aris, Clint, Caleb, and Jacob; and his great-granddaughter, Aubrey.
The family wishes to thank everyone for their love, support, and kind expressions of sympathy during this time.
A private service will be held for family and close friends.
