Connie “Ray” Ganoe, 69, of Dixie, West Virginia, entered into rest on May 24, 2026, at his residence, surrounded by his family. Ray was a lifelong resident of Dixie and attended Gauley Bridge High School, Class of 1975. He retired from Kroger Co. and was a lifelong musician for more than 50 years. Throughout his musical career, he sang with the Harbour Lights, the Harold Family, and the Brighterside. He also played with many bands and musicians throughout the Charleston area and was an original member of the “Hogan’s Goat Band.”
Ray is survived by his companion of 18 years, Karen; his daughters, Crystal (TJ) and Amber (Mark); his stepsons, Eric and Brandon; his grandchildren, Parker, Palmer, Cooper, Harper, Drucilla, Amelia, and Jameson; many nieces and nephews; and his two sisters, Elaine and Wanda.
He was preceded in death by his son, Jonathan; his parents, Wheeler and Jessie Ganoe; his sister, Shirley; and his brother, Eddie.
Funeral services for Ray will be held on Monday, June 1, 2026, at 1:00 p.m. at Mt. Olive Baptist Church, with Pastor Adam Dorsey officiating. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service, from 12:00 p.m. to 1:00 p.m. Burial will follow at Walker Memorial Cemetery in Summersville, West Virginia.
