Chilton E. Holcomb “PeeWee” of Lizemores entered into rest peacefully at his home on the morning of October 6, 2022.
Chilton was born February 7, 1948, to the late Chilton and Lucille (Nichols) Holcomb of Lizemores. In addition to his parents, Chilton was preceded in death by his loving wife Sally Ann (Ramsey) Holcomb.
Chilton was a long-time member of Laurel Fork Missionary Baptist Church and a retired UMWA surface miner.
Chilton is survived by his four children: Charles E. Holcomb of Lizemores, Christopher L. Holcomb of Lizemores, Rebecca (Jerry) Auxier of Jodie, Kathryn (Mike) O’Dell of Quinwood;
Sisters, Patricia (Keith) Holcomb of Lizemores and Marylou Holcomb of Lizemores; Grandchildren, Anissa (Josh) Duncan of Weston, Selene Holcomb of Sistersville, Brittany (Dakota) Light of Bell Creek and Jacob Bates of Jodie. Two great grandchildren Elliot and Nora Jean of Weston.
Services will be held on Wednesday October 12, 2022, at Pennington Smith Funeral Home, Gauley Bridge, WV with visitation beginning at 10:00 am and service beginning at 11:00 am with Reverend Earl Elliott officiating. Burial will follow on the family farm at “Stone Ridge Cemetery” on Jim Stone Ridge in Lizemores.
