Carl William Lavender, 90 Gauley Bridge, died Saturday, June 9, 2012 at Hubbard Hospice House West. He was born March 13, 1922 at Burnwell, WV to the late Charles and Margaret Combs Lavender. In addition to his parents he was also preceded in death by his wife, Ruby McAtee Lavender; brother, Jack Lavender; sisters, Ella Jean Scaggs & Ruby Price.
He was a man of strong Christian Faith, and a World War II Army Veteran.

He is survived by his daughter, Jeannie (Eugene "Butch") Skaggs of South Charleston; son, Chuck (Joanna) Lavender of Gauley Bridge; grandchildren, Adam (Aimee) Skaggs of Tennessee; Mandy (Tony) Guerrini of NC; Sarah (Scott) Nichols and Christian Lavender all of Gauley Bridge; great-grandchildren, Alexis Skaggs, Emma Skaggs, Nick Lavender & Jacob Guerrini; sisters, Bessie Barnhart, Ida (Bob) Pritt, Dell McClure & Ruth (Harry) Rosenberger.
Funeral Services will be 12:00 noon Tuesday, June 12, 2012 at the Pennington Funeral Home, Gauley Bridge with Rev. Charles Blankenship and Rev. Michael Lanham officiating. Burial will follow in Montgomery Memorial Park, London. Friends may call one hour prior to the service.
