Carl Workman Hanshaw, 92, of Belva, entered into rest October 29, 2012, at home.
Born on February 13, 1920, in West Virginia, he was the son of the late Raymond and Virginia Hanshaw. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by his wife, Ruth Hanshaw; and son, Linville.
He was a coal miner, a minister and a member of the Masonic Lodge.
Survivors include his children, Lovell of Poe, Richard (Teresa) of Vaughan, Haymond (Jo) of Lookout, Arvin (Shirley) of Poe, John (Patricia) of Twenty Mile, David (Lisa Pritt) of Twenty Mile, Nathan (Sabrina) of Pipestem, James (Rita) of Twenty Mile; Rebecca Pritt (Kenneth) of Vaughan, Lois Hanshaw Teitloff of White Bluff, TN, Freda Holcomb (Jim) of Adonijah, Dreama Broadway (Michael) of Pace, FL, Goldie Kuntz (John) of Swiss and Barbara of WV; brothers, Otto, Cebert and J. R., all of Poe; 32 grandchildren and 53 great-grandchildren.
Funeral service will be 2 pm Thursday, November 1, 2012, at Pennington Funeral Home, Gauley Bridge, WV. Burial will follow in the Hanshaw Cemetery, Poe.
