Arbutus B. Brady, 82, of Ovapa, died Saturday, December 2, 2006, at the home of her daughter.
She was born May 18, 1924, to Earley and Dicy Park Brown. She was a Christian, a member of Bethel Methodist Church at Ovapa, WV., and a retired teacher from the Clay County Board of Education. During her career she taught at Robinson Fork, Blue Knob, Twistabout, Hagar, and Clay Elementary Schools. She also taught Sunday School for many years. She was an avid Bible scholar and loved everyone.
In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband Kenneth Brady and a brother, Glenvil Brown.
She is survived by daughter and son-in-law, Nancy and Deward K. Dawson of Procious, granddaughters and their husbands, Michele and John Fowler of Charleston and Marla and Mark Nichols of Hurricane, great grandchildren, Serena and Scott Nichols of Hurricane, brothers, Denvil Brown of Elyria, OH., Otto Brown of Fola, and Ronald Brown of Eleanor; sisters, Audra Hopkins, Geraline Samples, and Sylvia Summers of
Ovapa, Myrtle Belle Arbogast of Elkview, and Arlene Jett of Little Hocking, OH.
Funeral service will be 11a.m. Tuesday, December 5, 2006, at Carl Wilson Funeral Home, Clay, with minister Allen Jones officiating. Burial will follow at Belcher Cemetery, Ovapa.
