John Ernest Legg, 81, departed for his heavenly home on January 31, 2020.  Born on January 14, 1939 he was preceded in death by his wife Phyllis Legg, parents Kenneth and Emer Legg, five brothers and one sister.

John is survived by his sons Terry (Sherry) Legg of Belva, and Gary (Rose) Legg of Belva; daughter Candy (Kevin) Scarbrough of Belva; eight grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; brother David Legg of Gray, GA; and special nephew Frank Foster.

Funeral Service will be held 1 PM Tuesday, February 4, 2020 at Bell Creek Missionary Baptist Church, Dixie, WV with Pastor Shane Wynn officiating. Burial will follow in the Kanawha Valley Memorial Gardens, Glasgow, WV. Friends may gather with the family at the church one hour prior to the service.

In lieu of flowers donation may be made to Bell Creek Missionary Baptist Church PO Box 28 Dixie, WV 25059.

My condolences. Uncle John was loved by so many people far and wide. May we all remember his good deeds for others and celebrate his life. We will all miss him but we'll always remember him.

Rest in Peace my friend, we grew up together, only 3 months apart in age, lived next door to each other, I have many fond memories of our childhood, a great man who loved the Lord. Sure you are excited to see your wife again.

I'm very sorry for your loss. I graduated with John at Clay County High. I remember him as a friendly guy with a big smile.

I worked with John at Valley Camp Coal Co Mine 15A, Donaldson Hollow, and also at Point Mining Coal Company, Campbells Creek. He was a superior electrician and such a
pleasure to work with. My sincere condolences to my friend and former co-worker, Terry, and his family.

No doubt hearts are heavy losing your Dad along with thoughts of both parents are gone but let it be comforting to know where they are. Sorry I missed the service but you and the family are in my thoughts and prayers.
