Music by The Piano Brothers

Dallas Gene Horrocks Sr., 67, of Lockwood, W.Va, went home to be with
his Lord surrounded by his family on Sunday, September 3, following a
courageous battle with cancer. He was born in Lansing, W.Va, on
January 30, 1950, son of the late James C. Horrocks and Rouena O. Horrocks.
On November 1, 1969, Dallas married the love of his life, Trudy
(Coleman) Horrocks, who survives. Dallas is also survived by his five
children, Dallas Jr. (Emmy) Horrocks of Cortland, Ohio, Tammy (Kevin)
Zebley of Bridgeport, Cindy (Jon) Melzer of Alexandria, Va., Jason
(Lisa) Horrocks of Cortland, Ohio, and Amanda Belt of Lockwood. He is
also survived by his loving grandchildren, Katlyn, Courtney, Gracie,
Zachary, Jayden, Max, Grayson and Ava, and great-grandchild, Camden.
Dallas was very loved by his surviving siblings, Ruth Jones of Alta,
Doris (Bob) Brown of Jodie, Rose Stephens of Jodie, Kenneth (Patsy)
Horrocks of Bentree, and Lee (Sara) Horrocks of Mt. Nebo. Dallas was
adored by his many nieces and nephews.
Dallas was a lifelong resident of West Virginia. He was a First Church
of God minister for 44 years, most recently, pastoring the Gilboa First
Church of God until his health declined. Dallas was a talented musician
and a collector of musical instruments. He enjoyed sharing his love of
music with his family and friends and enjoyed many "jam sessions" with
his sons. Dallas had great love for God and his family. Many were
blessed to hear his sermons, songs and jokes over the years.
In addition to his parents, Dallas is preceded in death by his brothers,
Tommy, Bill, and Donnie, and his sweet granddaughter, Mackenzie Belt.
Family and Friends will be received at Pennington Funeral Home in Gauley
Bridge, W.Va., on Tuesday, September 5, from 6 - 8 p.m. Funeral
services will be held on Wednesday, September 6, at noon, at Pennington
Funeral Home. Following the funeral, Dallas will be laid to rest in the
Lansing Cemetery in Lansing, W.Va. In lieu of flowers, the family
requests donations be made to Pennington Funeral Home.
