Gene Edward Pullen, 64, of Fayetteville, entered into rest September 10, 2010, at Appalachian Regional Hospital in Beckley.
Born on May 7, 1946, in Gauley Bridge, he was the son of the late Woodrow Wilson and Irlena Mae (Humphrey) Pullen. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by his sisters, Opal Taylor and Drema Foster.
He was a retired UMWA coal miner, and attended the First Church of God of Alta.
A special thanks to in-laws, Mike and Gladys Foster and his nieces, Debbie McVey and Michelle Taylor.
Survivors include his wife of 40 years, Betty Pullen of Fayetteville; children, Jeaann (Jon) Kesler of Mt. Hope, Tina Marie Pullen of Fayetteville, Tony Pullen of Mt. Hope, Teresa Faye (Mike) Dorsey of Powellton, Maggie Pullen of Fayetteville and Karen Louise Childers of Wallback; sisters and brothers, Audrey Mae (Dencil) Preast of Victor, Nancy (John) Huddleston of Cannelton and Woodrow Wilson "Junior" Pullen and companion, Beth, of Nitro; grandchildren, Chelby Mae Dorsey of Fayetteville, Allyson Kesler of Mt. Hope, Kassidy Dorsey of Fayetteville, Erynn Kesler of Mt. Hope, Joshua Kesler of Mt. Hope and Sam Childers of Wallback.
He was a loving and devoted husband, dad, and papaw.
Funeral service will be 1 pm Tuesday, September 14, 2010, at Pennington Funeral Home, Gauley Bridge, with Minister J. W. Hill officiating. Burial will follow in Gethsemane Memorial Gardens, Pea Ridge Road, Oak Hill.
Friends may call from 6 to 8 pm on Monday at the funeral home.
