HINESVILLE: Nellie Isabelle Poff, 90, died, Wednesday, May 20, 2009 at Memorial Health University Medical Center after a brief illness.
Mrs. Poff was a native of West Virginia and has lived alone in Ludowici for the past 6 years. She was a homemaker who lived her life through her children and grandchildren. Mrs. Poff was of the Methodist faith and was a life long resident of Glen Ferris, West Virginia until health problems brought her to Georgia in 2002, where she spent some of the best years of her life surrounded by her family and new friends.. She was preceded in death by her late husband William J. Poff, who died in 1970 and her son, William Nile Poff who died in 1983.
SURVIVORS: Daughters, Nordene (Charles) White of Hinesville, Sharon (Leon) Kennedy of Columbus, Ga., Marjorie (Gilmer) Dorsey of Cottageville, W.V; Brother, Warren Clark of Meridian, Miss.; Eleven Grandchildren, sixteen Great-Grandchildren, thirteen Great Great-Grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.
VISITATION: The family will receive friends and family Monday, May 25, 2009, from 1 pm to 2 pm at Pennington Funeral Home, Gauley Bridge, WV.
FUNERAL: Funeral service will be 2 pm Monday, May 25, 2009, at Pennington Funeral Home, Gauley Bridge, WV. Burial will follow in Montgomery Memorial Park in London, WV.
PALLBEARERS: Family Members
The family wishes to thank all neighbors in West Virginia that assisted and cared for her in WV, the manager of Sandlewood Apartments, and those that assisted in her daily care and housekeeping in Ludowici, GA.
