Orrville - Orgil L. Miller, 87, of 1063 Schrock Road, Orrville, and formerly of Wooster, went home to be with the Lord, on Monday June 1, 2009, at Akron City Hospital, following a sudden illness at his home.
Services will be held at Auble Funeral Home, 512 East Oak Street, Orrville, on Friday, June 5, 2009, at 11:00 AM with Pastor David Greegor officiating. Burial will take place at Sherwood Memorial Gardens near Wooster, where military rites will be conducted.
Friends may call at the funeral home on Thursday evening, June 4, 2009, from 6-8 PM. Online registry and expressions of condolence may be left at the funeral home's Web site, www.aublefuneralhome.com.
Memorial donations may be sent to a charity of the donor's choice.
Orgil was born on February 15, 1922, in Clay, West Virginia, the son of Howard and Bessie (Adkins) Miller. He was united in marriage to Pansy L. Young on October 2, 1948 in Clay,WV. She survives. He was a World War II Veteran, having served in the US Army from 1942- 1945. He had worked at Crown Steel for eighteen years, retiring in 1987. Orgil had attended the Dalton Baptist Church, and previously attended the Highland Church of God in Wooster. He will be greatly missed by his family and all that knew and loved him.
Surviving in addition to his wife, Pansy Miller, are sons, Jerry (Mary) Miller of Orrville, Damon (Sue) Miller of Wooster; daughters, Brenda (Mark) Moser of Orrville and Tammy (Destery) Pumphrey of Orrville; thirteen grandchildren, Jeff Welty, Tricia (Keith) Fetzer, Chad Miller, Brad (Julie) Welty, Kevin (Kate) Miller, Tim (Roxie) Moser, Todd Miller, Melissa (Steve) Kulich, Brent Miller, Brittney, Corey, Courtney and Christina Pumphrey; nine great-grandchildren; a sister, Rosemary Caroland of Georgia; and a brother, Elmer Miller of Virginia.
Orgil was preceded in death by his parents; a son, Roger Miller; three brothers, Jim, Roy and Spencer Miller; and two sisters, Roxie McKinney and Orphie Allen.
