Sherd Lennis Maynard Jr., 64 of Gauley Bridge went to be with JESUS on Saturday, October 23, 2010 in Leesburg, FL. He was born October 8, 1946 in Charleston, WV to Sherd Lennis Maynard Sr., of St. Albans and the late Evirl VanCamp Maynard. In addition to his mother he was also preceded in death by a sister, Ardith Maynard.
He was a member of the Brownsville Holiness Church, Brownsville and a Army Veteran. Sherd was a very talented, self-employed artist painting under his business name "The Masters Touch" having painted muriels in Gauley Bridge, Montgomery, Hurricane, St. Albans, Marlinton, Charleston, The Smokey Mountains and Florida just to name a few. His art work can be found throughout the United States.
He is survived by his wife, Shirley May Maynard of Gauley Bridge; daughters, Clarissa Webb of Ansted, Ardith Myers of Charleston, Misty Maynard of Gauley Bridge, Tabitha Maynard of Lawrenceburg, TN, and Amber Pell of Boomer; sons, Jeremiah Maynard of San Antonio, TX, and Steven Maynard of Gauley Bridge; sisters, Barbara Gibson of St. Albans, and Lennie Brewer of Nitro; 10 Grandchilren; One Great-Grandchild.
Funeral Services will be 1:00 PM Friday, October 29, 2010 at the Pennington Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Charles Blankenship officiating. Burial will follow in the Simms United Methodist Church Cemetery, Swiss. Friends may call two hours prior to the service at the funeral home.
