Mr. Basil H. Fitzwater, 82 of Dixie, Our beloved husband, dad, pop-paw and brother, went home to be with the Lord peacefully in His sleep, Monday, December 1, 2008.
He was born November 22, 1926 at Hartland, Clay County, WV to the late Howard and Lola Thomas Fitzwater. He was also preceded in death by his Sisters Orlean Myers, O. Tressie Fitzwater, and Sister-in-law Leslie Fitzwater; Brother Harold Fitzwater and Brother-in-law George Pittman; Granddaughter Angela Mullins.
He was an active member of the Lizemores United Methodist Church, and a retired Superintendent from Union Carbide Mining Division at Sanderson. He was an avid Atlanta Braves and Clay County sports fan.

His Children Connie and Eugene Mullins - Dixie, WV; Barbara Fitzwater - Belva, WV; Richard and Shirley Fitzwater - Lizemores, WV; Lola and Don Walker - Dixie, WV. His Grandchildren, Chuck and Toni Mullins - Dixie, WV; David and Melissa Hill - Clay, WV; Julia Hill - Oak Hill, WV; Cindy and Jeff Mullins - Fairmont, WV; Beth Mullins - Dixie, WV; Christy Fitzwater - Lizemores, WV; Michelle and Tim James - Dixie, WV; Amy and Phil Nichols - Dixie, WV; Tommy and Heather Walker - Big Chimney, WV; Cathy and Jared Atha - Lizemores, WV; Heather Walker - Dixie, WV. His Great Grandchildren, Brandie Hill, Danielle and Gary Champ, Cory Hill, Gavin, Reece, Jakoby Nichols, Noah, Caleb and Cain Atha, Erin and Adam Mullins, Walker, J.T. and Emma James, Karmen and Collin Walker. His Great Great Granddaughter, Gracey Champ.
Funeral service will be 1:00 PM Thursday, December 4, 2008 at the Lizemores United Methodist Church, Lizemores with Ministers, Don Dobbins, Carl Burrows, and Dennis Preast officiating. Burial will follow in the Morton Cemetery, Lizemores, WV.
Friends may call from 6:00 PM - 8:00 PM Wednesday, December 3, 2008. At the
Pennington Funeral Home Chapel, Gauley Bridge, WV.
